Getting to and from the Ithaca Airport

The Ithaca Tompkins International Airport is a public airport located in Tompkins County, New York, conveniently located only three miles northeast of the city of Ithaca just off of NYS Route 13.     To get to downtown Ithaca from the airport, take a right onto Brown Road and then turn left onto Route 13 South. Stay on Route 13 for about 6 miles until you reach downtown Ithaca.

    To get to Cornell University from the airport, take a left onto Warren Road and then turn right onto Route 366 West. Stay on Route 366 for about 3 miles until you reach the Cornell campus.

    To get to Ithaca College from the airport, take a right onto Brown Road and then turn left onto Route 13 South. Stay on Route 13 for about 3 miles until you reach the interchange for Route 13 and Route 96B. Take the exit for Route 96B and turn left onto Danby Road. Follow Danby Road for about 2 miles until you reach the entrance to the Ithaca College campus.

    If you are traveling to the Finger Lakes wine region, take Route 13 South to Route 79 West. Follow Route 79 for about 15 miles until you reach the town of Trumansburg. From there, you can explore the many wineries and vineyards that the region has to offer.

    Keep in mind that Ithaca can experience heavy traffic during peak travel times, so plan accordingly. Additionally, be aware of local speed limits and traffic laws to ensure a safe and enjoyable driving experience.

    Parking Guide

    To use our parking service, simply follow these straightforward steps:

    1. Upon arriving at the airport, proceed to your preferred designated parking area, which is conveniently located near the main terminal.
    2. Retrieve your parking ticket upon entering your preferred parking lot.
    3. Park your vehicle in any available space within the parking lot.
    4. Remember to keep your parking ticket as you will need it for payment and exiting the lot upon your return. We recommend leaving it someplace safe in your vehicle.
    5. When you return go to your car and proceed to the Parking Booth to settle the payment, you can make the payment using cash or credit/debit cards.

  • Public Transportation: Affordable and Convenient

    Public transportation is a cheap and convenient way to get around Ithaca. TCAT, the Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit, provides regular bus services from the airport to downtown Ithaca and other destinations in the area.     Two bike racks are now available for public use.  You will find one near the flag pole as you approach the terminal building on Culligan Drive.  The other can be found by continuing down Culligan Drive.  It is located at the far end of the canopy in front of the passenger terminal, just outside the arrivals entrance.
