Mark your calendars for September 14th! Ithaca Tompkins International Airport is thrilled to host the annual Airport Day & Preparedness Expo from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This exciting community event offers something for everyone.

Event Highlights:

• Runway 5K: Kick off the day with our Runway 5K from 8 am – 9 am, registration starts at 7 am. Pre Register online at: www.runsignup.com/Race/NY/Ithaca/IthacaTompkinsRegionalAirportRunway5k
• Pancake Breakfast: Enjoy breakfast with the East Hill Flying Club from 7 am – 1 pm. $10 all you can eat, $7 for kids 3-10.
• Scenic Flights: East Hill Flying Club will offer $65 scenic flights starting at 9 am.
• Hot Air Balloon Rides: Southern Tier Balloon Tours offers tethered balloon rides from 9:30 – 10:30 am.
• Vehicle Extrication Demo: Watch the dramatic rescue demo at 9:45 am.
• Tower Tours: Take a tour of the airport tower from 10 am – 11 am. Limited groups; sign-up required.
• Red Cross Blood Drive: Donate blood from 10 am – 2 pm at Tompkins County Whole Health: 55 Brown Rd. Schedule your appointment at www.RedCrossBlood.org.
• Free Citizen Preparedness Training: Offered at 10 am by the New York Citizen Preparedness Corps. Pre-register at www.prepare.ny.gov to receive a Disaster Preparedness Kit.
• Crossroads the Clown: 10 am – 12 pm for family-friendly entertainment and balloon animals.
• Cayuga Radio Paper Airplane Contest: Show your skills at 10:30 am for a chance to win a $500 ITH travel voucher.
• Dunk Tank: Take a shot at dunking a volunteer from 11 am – 12:30 pm, all proceeds go to the Pilot Scholarship fund at East Hill Flying Club.
• Ice Cream Truck: Cool off with a treat from 11 am – 1 pm.
• Preparedness and Safety Fair: Explore various displays and demonstrations on emergency preparedness, health, and safety. Participate in hands-on activities like CPR training, vehicle extrication exercises, and fire extinguisher use.
• Airplane Displays: Get an up-close look at a variety of aircraft on display throughout the event. This is a fantastic opportunity for aviation enthusiasts and families alike to explore the fascinating world of aviation.
