ITH to receive $1.5 Million for New Emergency Response Building
At Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ITH), we’re excited to share some news with our community. Thanks to the efforts of Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand, ITH has been awarded $1,500,000. This funding marks a pivotal step in enhancing our airport’s capabilities and safety standards.
The grant will be directed towards constructing a new joint-use Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting/Snow Removal Equipment building. This development is not just a building project; it represents a major upgrade from our current facility. The new ARF building is designed to house our emergency response and snow removal vehicles adequately.
Why is this important? The strategic housing of these vital vehicles will streamline our emergency response and snow removal operations. This means improved safety for our travelers and more efficient handling of adverse weather conditions – ensuring that ITH continues to operate smoothly, no matter what the skies bring our way.
We extend our gratitude to Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand. Their dedication and support have been instrumental in securing this funding. This grant doesn’t just signify financial assistance; it underscores the commitment of our leaders to the safety and efficiency of air travel in Tompkins County.
As we embark on this exciting project, we’re reminded of the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving great milestones. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress with the construction of the new ARF building. Together, we’re taking another significant step in ensuring ITH remains a safe, efficient, and welcoming gateway for all our travelers.
Thank you, Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, for being pivotal in this journey towards enhancing ITH’s emergency response infrastructure.
