New Restaurant Officially Opens with Exciting Flavors for Travelers and Ithaca Community
The Legacy By ARDM Enterprises is officially open and operational at the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport, making history as the first ever Black-owned business to operate a restaurant out of the terminal. The Legacy has plans to serve travelers and the broader Ithaca community from 5am-9pm, seven days a week. The opening of new restaurant was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Tompkins Chamber with a celebratory reception afterwards.
The ceremony included remarks from the following individuals:

- Larry Baum, Chair, Air Service Board & Ithaca Area Economic Development
- Jennifer Tavares, President & CEO, Tompkins Chamber
- Leslyn McBean-Clairborne, Chair, Tompkins County Legislature
- Mike Lane, Chair, Tompkins County Legislature’s Facilities & Infrastructure Committee
- Diana T. Bryant, M.S.W., M.S., C.A.S., The Legacy by ARDM
- Eloise Barrett, mother of the Executive Chef, Volunteer, The Legacy by ARDM
- Sybil Sloan, CEO, The Legacy by ARDM/ARDM Enterprises
- Amos Malone, Friend & ARDM Chaplain
The remarks were concluded with a musical performance from Earl Bynum, Grammy-nominated Gospel artist. The terminal was filled with excitement and pride – and delicious smells! The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by a reception with food prepared by The Legacy. In terms of the menu, The Legacy plans to offer a European-style breakfast, lunch buffet, and classic dinner options with a southern touch.
